Our Story

We both grew up in Plymouth and have great memories of childhood and teenage years spent in the West Country.  We then moved away to the South East in the 1980s, where we raised our now grown-up family.  We always knew we would move back to Devon at some stage and in 2018, we were lucky enough to find a wonderful location and home, which we now share with our two Miniature Schnauzers, Bertie and Otto, and of course, our family when they come to stay.

 

We are looking forward to welcoming guests to enjoy our space with us and have an activity-filled or relaxing holiday in the knowledge that we will be on hand to make sure every stay is unique and memorable. ​

 

Set in nearly an acre of garden, a paradise for birds and wildlife and surrounded by fields, meadows and moorland, Blue Slates is a beautiful and comfortable apartment, which is part of Hunter’s Moon, our Devon home.  Blue Slates is ideally positioned in a sunny, south facing spot and offers year-round private, peaceful and relaxing, self-catering accommodation for one or two people looking for a perfect getaway.

 

Blue Slates 

Blue Slates has been newly renovated and equipped to feel like a home away from home.  All on one level, with a timber ramp access to a decked patio complete with a glass balustrade, the double entrance doors open into a superbly appointed living & dining room with two comfortable sofas, a cosy log and flame effect fire, a Smart TV, DVD player and smart speaker. Off the living room, there is a large airy bedroom with a king-size bed, luxurious bedlinen, occasional chairs and a coffee table. The recently-fitted kitchen offers everything you would need for a self-catering stay including a Neff double oven and induction hob, Neff dishwasher, and AEG fridge-freezer. There is a luxury shower room with a heated towel rail. The living room, bedroom and kitchen all have central heating. The decked area has outdoor seating and a coffee table.

Outside, there is a covered car parking space and access to a locked shed for housing your bicycle(s).

Please note that as Blue Slates is joined to Hunter’s Moon there may be the occasional bark when the postie or deliveries arrive, lawn mowing and some general unobtrusive household activity.
